Rascal was a cat kept aboard the Weyland-Yutani Corporation commercial vessel USCSS Maginot.^[1]

Biography

Rascal was presumably born prior to 2055, the year the Maginot departed on its 65 year mission to deep space. During a break from stasis, medical officer Rahim places a small camera on Rascal's collar to capture footage of various crew members as the cat walked around the ship. Rascal observes engineer Schmuel telling Malachite that due to the length of the mission and time in stasis, his children back on Earth are now older than him. He also captures Rahim and science officer Chibuzo playing the card game gin rummy, and is later removed from the laboratory holding several alien specimens by Chibuzo.

In 2120, Rascal is shown to have died in the crash of the Maginot in Prodigy City, New Siam which is hinted in the teaser trailer. He was subsequently used as a host by an escaped specimen of Trypanohyncha Ocellus, a parasitic eyeball like alien with several tentacles, which burrowed into his eye socket and replaced one of his eyes. Rascal is found with broken legs, a broken spine and half his face missing. His tongue was also replaced by a tentacle as the Trypanohyncha Ocellus mimics the behaviour of its hosts. Prodigy Corporation Hybrid's Smee, Nibs, and Curly witness this ordeal and the alien parasite eventually exits Rascal's eye to attack them. It is later confirmed that the T.Ocellus can control dead hosts as seen with Arthur Sylvia which is what most likely happened to Rascal.
