Snake Aliens were Xenomorphs born from serpentine hosts. Due to the DNA reflex, they lacked legs, and in some cases, arms.
Variants
Ophidian
Xenomorphs born from traditional Earthen snakes (and presumably, similar organisms) lacked legs, having been fused into a thick and powerful tail, which they slithered around on. These Snake Aliens retained their arms, and possessed the smooth translucent dome of a typical Drone.[1] Depending on the size of their host, they could be considerably smaller than the average Xenomorph,[2] or reach gargantuan proportions. The dome of the adult was a purple color.[1]
TerraForm 3
Snake Aliens encountered on TerraForm 3 were unique in that they completely lacked both legs and arms, possessing a small body with a long and thin, but powerful tail. Green-black or brown in coloration, they distinctively possessed a cobra-like "hood", flanked on either side by six spiked appendages. Their copper-colored carapaces were ridged and spiked, with a pair of large fang-like mandibles on the sides of their mouths. This variant was known to be arboreal.
Titan
- Main article: Titan Xenomorph
The Titan was a serpentine Xenomorph of colossal size, born from the giant "Ancient Citizens". Unlike other Snake Aliens, the Titan possessed a single pair of small vestigial claw-like toes, and primarily crawled around. It had a large head crest and an underdeveloped lower jaw, which consisted of a pair of disconnected snake-like mandibles with a single tooth on each, as well as a long prehensile inner jaw.[3]
