The Colonial Protection Act was a law passed in 2187 following the destruction of Benoist-Henderson Station. Under the act, the United States Colonial Marine Corps were compelled to rescue civilians in danger regardless of the threat involved. Shortly after the act was passed, the USCM were also renamed as the United Americas Colonial Marine Corps.
